With many years of service to the community arts groups and artists in Salt Lake City, Derek Dyer has become one of the premier arts advocates and leaders in Salt Lake City.
He is well known in Salt Lake's communities for fun and unique events including fundraisers for charity groups like Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Utah Aids Foundation, Volunteers of America, Homeless Youth Resource Center, Utah Arts Alliance and others. Other events and collaborations include several projects with Downtown Alliance and First Night SLC, Utah Arts Festival and Salt Lake City Corp.
Experienced events producer including numerous art gallery shows, art events, concerts, dance performances and theater shows.
Dyer Founded the Utah Arts Alliance a nonprofit corporation establishing arts venues, providng arts education and arts programing in Utah's communities.
He became a national artist with the creation of the Diversity Ball, the World's Largest Disco Ball. His ten-foot in diameter,1000lb. ball is a record holder in the Guinness Book Of World Records as certified by Guinness World Records LTD. The ball has been featured in local and national publications including Maxim Magazine.
Dyer performs projection art using an eclectic collection of projectors and projection inventions that he has developed. He uses state of the art digital projectors and well as older techniques. He has performed projection art with national touring bands and theater groups as well as projection art exhibitions and events.
He has also shown his paintings and photographs at galleries and exhibitions all over.
Produced a diverse array of unique attractions including, haunted house, maze and circus.
